take a look for a switch or button on the front lip of the case, or, maybe in the area between the keyboard and the screen.

    Go to:
    support.dell.com
On the left under Product Support.
    Click on System Configuration.

    Select 'Service Tag'.
On the bottom of the laptop will be a Dell service tag.
Enter those digits and find out all about your system.

i can't find anything for wifi i'm assuming it does not have one:dunno: i guess he will have to buy one for the usb port. i appreciate the links but most of it was over my head (i'm not very good with computers) plus the dell is kinda weird (compared to toshiba and hp i'm use to) the only usb port i can find is in the back

On the C5/600 series, you would need to take one of the covers off the bottom of the laptop to see if it has built-in wifi. I don't think Dell introduced the wifi switch until the d-series.

Be advised(especially given the other thread on the wireless card currently running)

Belkin's management software, absolutely sucks... Let Windows manage it.
