I probably should have asked this question before I bought one. But do any of you have an experience with the Del Ton AR 15 rifles. How good are they and do you like them???

I've got a Delton upper on an AR build. It is a good upper.

By now the AR-15 has been made and improved many times. Regardless of the name the American Rifle is a very reliable firearm.:flag:

Plenty good enough for the average shooter/plinker/fun gun scenario. I just wouldn't bet my life on one; that being said, there's very few rifles I would bet my life on.

The Vietnam Veterans can tell you about betting your life on rifles that failed. The Colts were totally failing in those days. You were not given a choice.

Our government violated several common sense rules when they introduced the M16 in Viet Nam - chief among them is you never issue a new weapon system to troops in the field. It was an unproven system at the time.

However, the M16/M4/AR15 of today is vastly improved and far more reliable than what was introduced in Viet Nam. There is a reason why this firearm is so popular today.

I have one and have used it for Competition. Never misses a beat. They are great AR's for the price. Shoot it and enjoy it.

I've had one for about 10 yrs now. Probably over 10k rounds through it, including the steel cased cheap crap. I keep it lubed with CLP and run a bore snake through it after each session. I clean the BCG after 2-3 sessions. Never had an issue with it at all.

I built one with their parts 13 years ago. Thousands of rounds of abuse later and zero issues. Great customer service too.

I don't want to hijack a thread, but it's pretty safe to say their was some cost-cutting measures and flat-out bureaucratic nonsense that went into putting rifles that didn't work properly into the hands of our military.

When I wanted a true Dissipator complete upper I found it at Del-Ton. They make the rifle length gas port larger to help drive the action. Most other brands were mid-length gas tubes under the rifle hand guards. Del-Ton built it right.

It has been excellent. Would buy Del-Ton again.

I’ve had one for just over four years and is been great. I wouldn’t hesitate to pick up another, complete or parts.
