Is this a shooter in your area?
way too big. i like to keep em 90-100# and no more than a spike. that would be a monster for these parts. congrats, thats a keeper.
Yessir - that's a trophy for my place.
Real nice deer.
I'd be real proud of that one.
Is there a story behind the carcass?
Man this late in the season, they are all shooters... but thats a nice buck in my book.
So he was sleeping in the bed of your pickup truck and you shot him? Wow.....
Probally anywhere, that would be a nice deer. Congrats, and may that not be the biggest in your string of acheivements. Thank you very much for doing what so many others won't. That is being one of the 16% of our population doing what is neccessary so our friens and family may not be injured by these overpopulated animals. I've lost a friend from a deer/car colision and pray it will be the last. Since then I have vowed to do my part!
Actually, this deer was hit by a car about a mile from my house. I'm glad to report that the driver was not hurt, just minor damage to his vehicle. The meat was donated to a needy family and I kept the horns.
Glad to hear knowbody was hurt!
I have lived out in the country for seven years now, first year here taking boys to Sunday school, about fiteen minute round trip. On the way back there was a doe laying on the road, on the side I just traveled on. Long story short, she was delicious!
