Here is a deer I took yesterday morning at 7:25am, the only one I saw. Weighed around 145lbs, and was shot at 125 yards with a 140gr BT from a .280 Remington. Ran about 55 yards. How is everyone else's season going?

    Very nice...

We are eating unfilled tags this year. 8(

It was great to be out in the mountains though. Incredible country and weather.

I love season here in Georgia. Plenty of animals with a limit of 12 deer!

Just got in (Sat. night) from all day in the stand here in West Tennessee. I let 6 walk by, and got the 7th one (big doe) with my muzzleloader. Wish I had a digital camera. She's beautiful.
Had a nice 6 point walk under me this morning but I never had a clean enough shot to take him. He kept quartering away.

pdxbubba, that's track soup that you'll be eating, but
It's nice that you got out and had a good time, that's
    what hunting is all about.

    Congrat's on the buck!

I just finished bow season with no deer. Heading out in a bit for my first day of muzzleloader season. Hoping it will prove to be better ;Q

I've gotten in one morning and one evening of Blackpowder hunting so far.

The morning hunt I had my 11 year old in the stand with me and the evening hunt I had both the 8 year old and the 11 year old.

The morning hunt the 11 year old got bored so it turned into a squirrel hunting trip. He shot his first 2 squirrels.

The evening hunt was more of a stand placing/rebuilding trip. Making way to much noise to see anything.

I missed two season's ago due to recurring unrelenting back pain, and last year due to the shortage of funds caused by the previous years doctors' bills and such. This year I have already missed muzzleloader season. I have been invited to hunt in Georgia with an internet pal whom I've never met from another board. However, I am unsure whether I will even end up doing that. It almost seems like I've totally lost my hunting drive... :(

Opening weekend we had 6 tags to fill and we got 5 nice deer. My buddies sister (in the pic) went with us for her first deer hunt and shot a nice doe. My brother shot a yearling button buck, I passed on a 3x3 then ended up taking two nice does.

I went out yesterday and took a new friend of mine who moved up here from NV last year. He has, or had, two deer tags. One is for a buck or a doe and the other one is for a whitetail doe. We got the whitetail doe last night. He was so excited. He was never allowed to hunt or be around guns as he was growing up so I have kinda taken him under my wing to teach him how to hunt.

    He was so excited.

Sorry I don't have a pic. Take a look at vafish's doe and imagine it in a grassy field. There there's you picture.

pdxbubba, I have a couple good recipies for tag stew. ;f ;f

minnshooter, didn't you post that in another thread? It's still a great looking buck. I was in WalMart today and they had one of the Monster Buck videos running. Some of those bucks just make me sick. They make me sick cause I know I will never get to hunt in country like that without a fatter wallet. :(

You guys got some good lookin bucks. Here in the mountains of Virginia they don't seem to get that big. I shot this one last weekend at 160 yards with a Browning 243. (Don't let anyone tell you a 243 won't kill deer.)

I shot a 4 pointer a couple of days before during muzzle-loader. I will be out again over the holidays, but I have to shoot a doe-used up buck tags. Will be taking the Ruger Redhawk.
