I was looking at my gear while ago and noticed that I have a new (bought at the end of last season) wide leather sling on my rifle. Do you guys think that the smell of that sling could alert a whitetail that I was in the area? I was thinking that I could spray it down with scent-killer, but it's leather, and I'm not sure that scent killer would do that much to leather. Should I swap it out for a nylon sling? I'm VERY careful about scent control (ScentLok clothes and BaseLayers, rubber boots, scentless shampoo and soap, etc...). I have 100% more success hunting when I've taken precautions on containing my scent. What would you do about that sling?
