    Already have a 19, 21 and 27.

    Thinking about getting a 34 before a 17.

    Thoughts?

Given the Glocks you list as already owning... the 34 would be a good next step.

I would answer your question for the G34. The only real difference is the slide length.

May I suggest the G35 which is in .40, but you could get a kit to still shoot 9mm, and you could get a .357 barrel for it as well.

I have a 34 now love it but wished I would have gotten the 35 and bought 9mm after market barrel.

If I had shot the G34 first I would have used the money I spent on a G17 for another G34 or G26.

I bought the 34 over the 17 because like you I have a 19. So I'd get the 34. Though it's more $ so that may matter. If I didn't have any Glocks and was trying to decide I'd probably go with the 17. I've had 2 17's in the past and I don't shoot the 34 any better.

I got the G34 Gen4 first, and ended up trading another gun for a G17 Gen4 later on. I like both of them a lot, but the G34 gets the edge out of the two. G17 is my test rig for new bullet and powder loads.

My vote would be the G35 with aftermarket barrels (357 sig and 40-9mm conversion), however, if you are only going to shoot 9mm then I would vote for the G34.

You already have a G19, and in my very humble opinion, the G17 is not much of a step away from it.

Having shot both over a couple of years, I prefer the G34. Both guns are great firearms. Since I'm not going to carry the G17 I like the longer sight radius and feel of the G34.

Why do you want a g34 or 17? practice? collections? range? competition?

if it is for range, home defense the 17 is good, even the 19. but if you are a top shooter in competition, and overcome the 19 or 17, and need something else to improve your time.. maybe the 34 is a good choice. (even the 17 for many shooters)

but if it is for collection, just flip a coin... both are great guns. but a g34 for range and not competition is a waste of money or overkill

I am a bit different in personal preference than most on this topic. I had the G34 prior to the 17, however I prefer the 17.

I say 17. For me, I've owned both and don't see the gain in the 34 over the 17. Actually, I shoot my 19 better than both of them. My next glock will be a 21 but if I was in the market for a 9mm, 17 all the way.

I have the 17. I don't shoot competitively anymore, so I have no desire to own long length competition guns. That being said, the 17 isn't that much different than the 19. For me, the grip feels about the same, but I can get shots on target faster with the 17.
