I've been waiting for this since last year. It's a copy of the De Lisle special ops rifle from WWII, they only built 140 of the originals so a new built copy was the only way.

It is based on a Lee Enfield, converted to .45ACP with a fully suppressed barrel. Mine has a Lothar Walther match grade barrel and the moderator is made to the specs of the originals. Gonna try it out on Tuesday, can't wait......

Cool, let us know how quiet it is. That would be awesome for annoying critters around the house.

Richard at SIA makes a copy, as well as non-DeLisle silent .45s but I don't know that this is one of Richard's......

Corrado, I don't know the laws in the UK so forgive the question...

The moderator/suppressor is legal in the UK?

I know the original Maxim pattern on those were VERY effective.

Very nice looking rifle. There was a company stateside who made conversion kits for the Enfield in 45 acp, a faux deslisle. It should be silent as hell, the 45 is already subsonic.

Wow, lots of questions. The gun is made in the UK by C&G Antique Firearms, Chris Goodwin.

    http://www.cgfirearms.co.uk/Gallery.aspx?Arg=Lee+Enfield&Ctrl=1

On the web site scroll down to the bottom of the page, select page 4 and scroll down again, click on the photo.

Moderators are legal in the UK, you have to have a reason, IE hunting or medical. I have a slight hearing loss so I got permission to have one for my 1022.

The moderator is integeral to the DeLisle and cannot be removed so I do not need permission for this. If it was screw on/off type I would do - go figure.

    Range? I don't know, it is a pistol round so I guess 100 - possibly 200 yards?

It was originally used as a special ops gun in WWII, commando raids on Nazi submarine bases in Norway, that sort of thing.

Only about 135- 140 originals were built, so mega rare and expensive.

    Mine was about £1800GBP.

The primary mission was to take out sentries. The pistols would make more noise, were less accurate, and had a shorter effective range. With the DeLisle you could have a commando covering the others from a hundred meters away. Supposedly the noisiest part was the firing pin hitting the primer. The bolt made for a smooth and quiet reload, you could go slow and make less noise then an autoloader. The effective range was around 150-200 meters.

That would be Richar at SIA (Special Interest Arms).

He is now working on a Delisle look-alike.
