Has anybody updated their MS Registry to accomodate the earlier DST this year? I just looked at the Microsoft Update Site and there was so much gobbledegook (sp) there about manually changing the registry that I gave up.
Is this something that your "Automatic MS Updates" will update on their own? Or is it only done manually? I could not tell.
I am thinking that on a home machine, "WHO CARES" !! :tongueout:

I don't know if it was an automatic update or not. Guess that I will have to dig into my update history to find out. I have my computer set to automatically install updates, so I might not have known what or when.

This is why the government should never have adjusted DST...another reason for M$ to let loose another breaking update.

Well, you don't have to go back very far . . . remember the "Y2K crisis" that never happened? Sure sold a lot of computers though, didn't it?

No kidding. AZ and IN were the only two states without DST... and Indiana just decided to start on it last year.

Now AZ is the best state =( I'm so sad I don't live there.

What does your CT Permit say?
I understand, from one of my sources, that MS came out with the fix about four months ago. ;)

If you have Win2k you need the reg adjustment. Also, if you use an Outlook calendar you will want the adjustment tool for your calendar appts during that time. That's true for XP and 2k.

What if you run Windows 98 as I do? Auto update or?

I think with 98 you are SOL. Don't use an OS that's 4 rev's out and 9 years old is what MS is saying.

You could move to Arizona... that would solve the '98 DST issue.

I'd bet though, it't just s couple of registry lines that handles the change. You'd just have to dig up where it is and what it needs to be. I don't know offhand, I don't even have a 98 machine running to play with it.
