Depends on what you are drinking. My addiction is coffee every morning. No coffee the odds of a massive headache. When the Keurig goes on the blink, it sets the whole day off kilter.

    amount?
not a good thing IMO, and experience.
    issue.
when i was prone to do so, sometimes no issue, other times, Katy bar the door!
the unpredictable nature, was all by itself, an issue.

Depends on when your “day” starts. I know swing shift guys that hit the bar at 0700.

I think it depends up on context and goal. At a dive bar solo with no goal other than hammered beyond coherence with the end being a ride downtown, es problemo.
Having a drink/cocktail/bloody hanging out with friends in a civilized, controlled manner while at home/golfing/boating/fishing (note...not hunting) etc, with one or two people never getting past the legal point of abstaining (or alternate transport) is more art than problem, for most people.

Time doesn't matter much unless it puts drunks behind the wheel. Amount and regularity do count. I'm not good at moderation so I stopped drinking. Not counting maybe 1 beer or 1 drink every 3 months, usually with the conclusion that I don't like the taste of alcohol anymore. The last 2 beers ended up in the sink halfway though.

Several recent studies, including from the Mayo Clinic show that moderate alcohol consumption supports heart health and wards off stroke and adult diabetes. Moderate being 14 drinks a week for men or 7 for women.

Who am I to argue with science?

I have to wait until is "5:00 somewhere". If I start early, I get way to ****ed up, and wash out before dark. I prefer to party in the dark.

Not since I quit playing golf. It was not unusual to have a cold one in the cart at 8:30, if we had a 7:00 tee time.
