Well one day down, 9 months 25 days to go!!
They already gave us most of the cool stuff to!!
A 10 month academy? Gad, I hope it's a part time academy. Let's see, you'll finish by November. So you'll be working Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.
Way to go!!! If they haven't started already, the ball busting will begin tomorrow. Enjoy!!!
That's been standard my entire adult life.
Mine is a year long. 4 half days a week, with a number of 5th days thrown in.
Wow. That is pretty long. Mine was 19 weeks but full time 8 hour days 5 days a week. Thats not including Specifics and FTO though which is another 3 months but at least that was after we were sworn in so we werent treated like maggots after the badge was on.
My reserve academy was 18 weeks, part-time, woohoo!
mine was 9 months where you doing yours i did mine at capcog in austin
just remember the only easy day was yesterday
I just finished week 16, myself.
I just started mine on Wednesday and it amounts to 10 hour days, 5 days a week for 6 1/2 months.
shouldnt you be doing less typing and more push ups?
My academy was 10 weeks long - 400 hours.
In 1981 LOL!!!!!
I believe ours was 21 weeks. 640 hours or so? Don't remember. The same academy runs longer now, 22 or 23 weeks.
The more we sweat in the academy, the less we bleed on the street.
Yes sir! Day one was all admin stuff, and orientation. Day two was when the fun began. Nice little run to a giant hill then up and down the hill a couple times, and in your basic calisthenics, knee deep snow, stir well and serve very frosty recruits lol... It was fun.
I think we have a pretty good squad, with an alright mix of little runner guys and big plodders (I'm the second one), the only problem is I feel like an old man since I am the oldest by about 8 years on most of them.
Thanks for the well wishes from everyone.
664 hours in CA and getting longer.
