2 hours after sunset, 70mph in a 35mph zone (extremely busy residential street), no headlight, no helmet, passenger on back.
Pickup turned left in front of him, he hit the right front of the truck, no skid marks.
Result is the 28 year old rider is dead (leaving a wife and baby behind), his 24 year old female passenger (not his wife btw) will probably lose a leg and is still in critical.
Feel sorry for the wife and baby..... but........

Wow. That sucks. Although I am an ultraconservative rider due to my newness to riding (and the will to live) there is a time and a place for speed. In a residential area with no protective gear and a passenger aboard is truly stupid and not the smartest place for speed.

Another kid without a dad. Tragic.

    No tears on my part.

But no headlight, huh? Is it an old bike or is it one of those cool dudes who rewired the headlights to not come on automatically?

    You'd have lost that bet.
He was on an old standard/cruiser type Honda.
The guy tried to trade it in at a friend of mine's shop the week before he wrecked. He was trying to buy a newer cruiser style bike. My friend said the bike was a total p.o.s. and the guy was a loser from way back (they went to H.S. together).

Harley riders are the only people who don't need helmets.
Their skulls are so thick they could be Snell certified.

One of the many reasons why I think HD riders are sad pathetic creatures, deserving of the taunts and ridicule heaped upon them. I'll poke fun of you and your ride all day. But I would never wish personal injury upon you.
    Assclown.
