I posted a while back about boots and tried the Acadias, nice boot but not going to work for me. I have it narrowed down to the Pursuit GTX and the Striker II. Anyone have an opinion either way on these boots?

Have you looked into Bates? The Danners I have are comfortable, but cost a lot of money. My Bates on the other hand...cheaper, well made, and pretty comfortable. I would look into getting the lightweights if you can.

I think they sell these for civi/LE

I wear the Blackhawk II. In my opinion the stich-on sole boots are much more durable and you can have them reconditioned down the road.

Please make sure that they are sticky on surfaces you are usually on. I doubt you are on fire dept. bay floors like I am, but one type of sole on the Danners put us all on our butts.

Danners are good boots, there is an Australian brand out there too, Redback, that we have had good luck with.

I have the striker II its great I got them for free from Danner for a replacement pair when a pair of Danners that were 2.5 years old went bad. been great they really stand by their stuff. I wanted some acadias but they didnt make them in the style I needed/wanted..non insulated non metalic safety toe.

I have the Strikers, short boot. The boots fit OK, but I don't care for the newer make of this model. The top eyelets for some reason don't want to allow the boot string to go through as easy as the rest of the boot eyelets. However they are fairly comfortable as long as you change out the inner soles when needed, and the outer sole will probably hold up from six months to a year, depending on type and amount of activity level.

Danners all the way. Had a pair that lasted me 14 years and were still comfortable when I tossed them out when I retired this past July.
