Did more work than anyone else, never late, never missed work. Kept my head down. Never complained...

    Still not good enough..

Hard work seldom gets you anywhere. Politics do. I say that from experience.

    Good luck though.

Rough, I know, but keep your chin up.
Get back out there and keep looking. The best is yet to come.

When I first read the title of this thread I thought it said "dang I got laid again" and wondered what the hell you're complaining about.

Sorry. Best of luck to you on both fronts.

    Sorry, man.

Good Luck in getting a new job.

And my advice: Don't work so hard next time. You scared the guy one step ahead of you.

    You have my sympathy.

Sometimes I have to lay off good workers and it's terrible, but if there's no work available then there's no work available. Don't take it too personally.

You know I've heard that line before and it is the BIGGEST LOAD OF PIG **** IN HISTORY.

There's nothing MORE PERSONAL than losing your job, and if I have to explain that to you then it's exceedingly sad that you can be that disconnected.

Why? Your hands sudden broke because you lost a job? You possibly can't go find employment elsewhere?

There are lots of things to be taken personally about, a job ain't one of them. It's a freakin' job.

No, you aren't suddenly disabled but you know damn well the odds for most people to pick up a new job immediately are exceedingly LOW.

I got laid off from my $75K job last August when the defense contractor I worked for was downsizing. But since I'm 65, I decided to just retire. Been drawing Social Security and unemployment ever since. Paid off our few debts and am just coasting. I've applied for jobs I'd enjoy, like part time bailiff with the Sheriff's Department, but that's all. I've got enough honey-dos to last quite a while.

I really feel for anybody in today's economy that really needs a job. Good luck to you.

Remember that the next time you get a job and they offer you the moon and stars.

Take everything you can. Give nothing back. Those people are not your friends and they are not there to help you.

Howso? I've lost jobs before. Hell, once I got escorted out by security so I wouldn't touch a computer and do my IT voodoo on my way out I guess. Not only did I never take it personally, but I always had a smile on my face and enjoyed the vacation until I got a new job. You think anyone who fired me lost a moment of sleep over it?
