Cool article, I would like to have on of his pistols. A 158 grain Gold Dot @ 1300 + fps would hit real hard.

    Very cool.

    I love Coonan pistols.

I had a model B many years ago. Was reliable and fairly accurate but the frame & slide galled and would leave stainless particles afer every use.
    Was traded off...

Stainless back then was not what it is today.

I keep telling people that the 357mag has no recoil. Well, maybe a little :)

I remember handling that. When you told me it was a .357 mag, I damn near fell over. :)

    Remember?

That would be a "wish" list pistol for me.'08.

    Oh yeah.

It does look cool with its full length dust cover. The gun is larger and heavier than a standard 1911, but it makes shooting 357mag a pleasure.

Its just a cool as hell pistol.

I sincerely hope they are planning on marketing these pistols this time around. We need to see ads in the gun rags. John Taffin needs to write an article. Covers of AH, GA, Combat Handguns etc.

The pistol needs more than just internet exposure.

Here's to hoping they stick around this time. :)

    From Coonan, Inc's Facebook page:

"We just received the approved cover of the "2011 Gun Digest", celebrating the 100th anniversary of the 1911 style pistol. The cover features two shots of the new Coonan Classic .357 Magnum Automatic pistol. We wanted to share it with you."
