Apple, as they do at times, wanted to "update" something.

Usually I don't allow this but I guess I got a Brain Fart and I allowed it.

The only thing I see that changed is it erased the Ad Blocker and now Glock talk is loaded with irritating Ads.

I've tried going to the Apple "support" site to see if I can get Ad Blocker working again, but Apple, as has happened since I original bought the computer, just screws me around, sending me back to my E Mail to reset the Name and Password, (which it doesn't appear to do) over and over again, until I'm locked out AGAIN.

I knew better than to trust Apple. I haven't recovered from the last screw up where the MAC wiped the whole desktop clean.

-------------------------------------So, now after two days and hours of screwing around and MANY TIMES being sent back to the E Mail to reset the Password, and or Name.
And being run in circle on Apple "Support", which just keep sending me back to the E Mail.
(At one place in "Support" it shows some wild E mail Address for me)

    Nothing has changed.
    So, any suggestions?

Go to a "System 76" computer with Linux/Ubuntu.

    https://system76.com/

I run one with a solid state hard drive and the speed is incredible.

I haven't reached the point.....yet.....where I'm ready to trash this Apple computer and start learning a new system.......but I'm getting there.

I'm getting tired of, it seems like every few months, I spend hours/days trying to recover form some new weird shi* that the computer does.

    What exactly are you running?

If you're on a mac book or desktop I would download / install firefox esr (extended support release). You can install the standard version of firefox however I prefer esr as it gets the needed security patches and not all the other crapola updates the regular one gets.

    https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/

    --------

If not sure how to download and install pretty ease to find on youtube. After installed find extensions and add ublock origin, very well known and trusted extension and will block everything you need. Also if you're currently using safari you should be able to just install ublock on there as well.

5:27 PM and apple is still screwing me around.

The latest, a minute ago, now "Support" (the name should be changed to "F*** You), runs me all through the reregister BS, MANY TIMES, asking for my e Mail address, then says that address can't be used because it is already in use.

The goofiest thing is it keeps telling me my Birthday is wrong.

This damned thing is getting closer to being a target.

Still being told my E-Mail address is not my e-mail address, as I get locked out, for about the 50th time.

As a former Graphic Artist, I had to purchase a Mac and taught myself how to use it back in 1989, or I would be out of a job. The Mac was the King of the Graphic Art World back then and Learning how to use one saved my career. I have since retired from being a Graphic Artist but I still have an old Mac G5 which I use for my hobby of doing Digital Art and Photography. My old Mac is still great for my artwork but I can no longer get on line to use the Internet because my Browser can not be updated. My old Mac still works great for my pleasure use but I now have a HP laptop with Windows 10, which I use for the Internet and all my business needs. Apple is no longer a great company and after their merge with Intel, they are just another Money Grubbing Greedy Corporation. Maybe we can make America Great again but there is NO HOPE for APPLE!

When my (three) Windows computers crashed I bought a Win 10 Laptop.
It was so different from the old Windows, I hated it and returned it in 3 days.
Then I went to Best Buy and bought this MAC Desktop.

To say it's been running me around circles ever since is an understatement.
    My impression is..........
A NUMBER of computer nerds put their ideas into the MAC without consulting each other.
So, the MAC, mostly, will do whatever you want, and has some good stuff, BUT it's spread all over the MAC, with NO common, or logical way to do things.

I'm STILL trying to get AD Blocker going again, but no matter how I approach it, I get run around in circles, by "Apple Support" and end up back at my E Mail, where "Support" says I'm using the wrong name or password, or e mail address, then locks me out again.

I searching for a non Apple Ad Blocker now.

It's amazing the amount of crap that fills your computer screen when there's no ad blocker
I'm REALLY getting tired of these Chevy ads on Glock Talk.

I'm actually thinking of trying Windows 10 again.

If you get a win 10 machine and want the win 7 look go to: https://ninite.com/ check classic start and download / run. Once installed you'll have the win 7 type start menu (which is fully customizable) and just all around easier to navigate and find things IMO. It's what I use.

    Good tip...thanks.

After my Win 7 computers crashed, I bought a Win 10 laptop.
After a couple days I hated it so bad I wanted to run over it with the pickup.

Lucky the place I bought it took it back, minus $90.

This MAC just doesn't stop screwing with me.
This morning I can't get on "The Bore Site" because apparently this MAC problem has messed with my Bore Site sign in password.

Apparently the MAC's recent update is screwing with, not only the Mac's password but other passwords well.

It looked to me that the Apple "updates" were just Apple trying to sell Mickey Mouse programs, so I never allowed them.

This was the first time (I had a brain fart) and allowed the "update".
Damned big mistake. Knocked out the AD Blocking program and as I've found out, is causing a lot of other problems.

I'm REALLY getting tired of the in your face CHEVY ads here on GT.
And all the other pop up bullshi* everywhere.

Do people really buy anything from those ads?

Macs are sort of like Glocks, run them stock and they work like a charm. try customizing this and that and you create self inflicted headaches.

    Oh!
    That's the problem.
    I don't like Glocks.
So this MAC is screwing around because I don't like Glocks.

I knew there must be a logical reason. :)

    Hey M2:

Life's too short for you to be having so much trouble. Get a windows machine and do what Don H said. It has gotten to the point that you are starting to sound like a grumpy old man...:fred:

    Yeah, you are right.

Life is too short to spend this much time being aggravated because of a computer.

Going out back and shoot a G33.

The computer had better duck. :)
