I'm planning on shooting at the Dallas match on Sat. 5/1 (gotta work Sun.) Anyone else gonna go? It'd be fun to hook up and maybe throw a pot-luck kinda thing together with stuff folks can grab n' gab on their way between courses of fire. Has anyone tried to do this before? It'd be a great way to show other participants just how freakin' cool the GT family is! Anyone got a pitchable shelter we could set up in the parking lot or something? Just thought I'd throw it out there and see how much interest there is...

    Be safe, have fun!

Donna & I will be there Sunday only. Have to work Saturday; will then head up & get there Sat. evening. Will shoot Sunday, then head back. Won't be much time for visiting with friends, but hope to see everyone & spend some time with 'em!

Actually I do consider myself psrt of the Florids gang.. I just can't go running off to every match that comes along like you guys in the north. glockNstein and I have to work sometimes. :)

Now if Dan had said the Florida Bunch, hat would have been different. ;Q

You left out one who will also be making the Dallas trip with us. Unclebob, we are picking him up on the way west this year. This has been confirmed.

I'll be there. I think I'll try and shoot some both days so maybe I'll see all of you at some point.

Seeing how I live about 15 miles away in Rowlett I'm fixin' to being there both days.

BTW this is my first GSSF I'm sure to shoot my 17 and maybe my 26 and 36 too.

I'm curious I'm a 56 year old woman... Which I guess makes me a senior and woman and amateur. I'm sort of confused regarding the classes and all.

See y'all next week. Still time to do some range work.

    Suzy,

Welcome to your first GSSF match. The key is to relax and have a great time. Don't worry about your score. Just shoot as accurately as you can.

You can enter as civilian, senior, adult female. Separate recognition (awards) are given to high female adult and high senior, but I don't think there is a separate award for senior female. You don't have to be at the top to get an award.

My daughter will be shooting with me in Dallas so look us up on Saturday morning (me, wife, and daughter together). Also watch for BikerGoddess who usually shoots and works the Dallas match.

Pretty much everyone has to meet me if they want to finish ;) I'll be working clipboard at the plates. We're planning to shoot Sunday morning. I'm guessing we'll get our practice in Saturday after y'all leave... ;Q

Geo, they have concessions set up, so you might find a bit of resistance to your idea.

How many round should one bring for each catagory? I want to shoot my 17, my 26 and "major sub" with my 36.

I believe the count is a maximum of 110 rounds for all categories except major subcompact. MSC is 70 rounds. You can review all GSSF procedures on www.gsonline.com. To save yourself a lot of time be sure to review the procedure on submitting your score sheets.

The NEW procedure is a "sign-in sheet" now! We where given "regestration cards" when we signed in at Richmond and they have a bar code that the RO's use to scan in the shooters name and # and course of fire into the PDA's. So all you have to do is get regester and go put your name of the "sign-in sheets" and decide which course of fire you want to shoot first!
Looking forward to seeing all our friends and meet new ones in Dallas!

How did you get such a cushy job. Methinks you have some pull with the match director.
