I've been wanting to get a muzzleloader for deer hunting for quite some time. I have used them many occassion (range only). I have shot the NEF Sidekick, and the CVA Hunterbolt, as well as some actual flint lock rifles. I have never hunted with a muzzleloader, but I was raised to believe that you only need one shot for deer hunting. That being said, I really like the CVA Optima muzzleloader in .50 cal. The specific one I am looking at is the blued 26" barrel w/ black stock. I've been to a couple shops and handled this model (as well as some others) and I like this one. I have done a little research, but I would really appreciate some first hand knowledge? Pro/cons? I am open to any other suggestions? I would like to keep the price around $250 or less, so then I can still afford to get all the start-up supplies, and maybe a scope if I decide to go that way. Thanks, Kory.
