Gabe Suarez has the best philosophies in the man-to-man combat arena. No frills, no BS, just what works. The guys on the competition circuit are very good at what they do, but I'd prefer to face one of them than one of Gabe's students in battle.

Everyone has opinions, I just think his make more sense than anyone else in the field.

I think a red dot on a glock would be pretty awesome. Are there any that can fit in the rear sight slot but not cost $400??

Red dots on the slide take an absolute beating. You are going to either spend $500 on one or buy one and spend $200-$400 hardening it.

JPoints, Doctors and FastFires usually need some custom work to stay reliable and last. The Trijicon may be good to go out of the box. Don't know yet.

Well nevermind on that.... i will just stick with 3-dot night sights.

OR... will the Jpoint adapter work with other red dots?

Most have their own mounts. The JPoint is $300 and the ones in the past have needed some work. The Trijicon is $550 and I have high hopes for it out of the box. I went with a FastFire on my GSSF Unlimited upper and kind of found out the hard way.

INSIGHT TECHNOLOGY recently won a Military Contract (from what I remember) for their new micro red dot. Looks Very Rugged! Just a suggestion if going this route.

It's public record...why *not* bring it up?

FWIW, I *have* read...thought it might be good to let others know who they may be doing business with.

I agree. Everyone should know that they are doing business with an experienced former cop, with a wealth of valuable knowledge and skills, who got railroaded and took a plea to a misdemeanor. I've been a cop for over 23 years, and would have no problem with Mr. Suarez. Do you have personal knowledge of anything that might change my opinion?

Like any other trainer, gunsmith or etc. Do your home work, if you don't like that person for whatever reason move on to someone else.

I agree. I just had a Jpoint machined into the slide and the grip re-shaped on my carry 19.

You can see it here: G19

I use Red-dot sights on some of my USPSA, ICORE and Bullseye guns and I am very comfortable with them. However, I did wonder how they would be for people who weren't familiar with there use. On Sunday I did some practice with a group of friends I shoot IDPA with. After running everyone through a stage we had set up I had them all re-shoot it with my new G19. I was suprised to see the times and hits were almost the same. They were shooting 5" 1911's and Glock 34's that are tricked out for IDPA, none of them had shot a gun with a red-dot before yet they were just as fast as with guns they have thousands of rounds through. So much for a "learning curve".

    That's my .02

    Take care!

    Bowtie,

Thanks man. I was thinking of you when I read that guys post on here about having his slide polished and it took several weeks to get it back and when he received it the work was not exactly what he requested. He should have sent it to you.
