Hope this isn't a repost but after reading a lot of negative comments about the Glock 36 and the GAP I have become curious to know if you could only pick one which would it be and why? G36 vs G38, what do you think?

    G36

Reason: Inventory, and not needing to acquire ammunition for another caliber.

Yep , another vote for a proven caliber. The G36 issues are spotty, along with the proven and available .45 ACP.

SOME BODY'S got to vote for the G38 --- ME! If size is a major facor, go for the G39 instead!

    You won't be sorry!

I would vote for the G38, as it is my all time favorite Glock. Better grip, greater mag capacity and 100% reliable.

I used the 38 as the example for the GAP because of the size "similarities" with the 36 for comparison.

I love my G36, but the recoil is a beast to tame.

    I vote Glock 38.
More accurate and less felt recoil than the Glock 36.

During the 08-09 Ammo rush, .45GAP ammo was more readily available in the local stores than .45ACP ammo.

I'd take a G39 over either for true concealed carry. Viva la 45 GAP.

Sorry, but as much as I like the .45 ACP, I think the GAP round is an excellent idea and I plan on getting a G38 as the next addition to my stable of Glocks. It will fit my G32 holsters and is the same size as far as carry goes. I loved my G21, but it was just too big.

I don't have either but the G38 should have less muzzle flip, it will fit your hand better and holds 2 more rounds. From all I read you will not be disappointed. If I didn't have so many .45 ACP brass and a G30 I would have one.

I have medium size hands. My G36, with pinky rest mag, fits my hand perfectly. The .45ACP has moderate recoil, but quite manageable, even by senior citizens' hands.

All factors being equal (ammo cost, availability, concealability, etc.), you will like either of the two Glocks. Both very well designed and constructed.

I have always been a major proponent of the 45ACP. With that being said, I now have 3 of the G30SF's (I do have small hands,) and they fit them perfectly. I also had a G21SF and even in the SF version, it was still a bit too big for me, so I traded it on a G38. Love it, in fact I loved it so much, it is just plain a perfect fit for my hands, that in less than a week, I went and bought a 2nd one.
I'm in a quandry now though, and maybe one of you can help me here? When I get my GSSF certificate, would I be better served picking up a new G37 or should I just get a 3rd G38?
Decisions...decisions, I really don't know which would be the better move?
Just so there is no confusion, I absolutely will not trade or get rid of any of my 3 G30SF's, they are out of the box the best ACP's I've ever owned! As for GAP ammo, I already have a bit over a case of Speer GD200 JHP. That's what the PA State Police use, so it's plentiful here, since we have a barracks here in our town.
Ok, so let me know, Danny or anyone else weigh in on another G38 or should I get a G37?
Good luck and always stay safe.

If it were me I would stop at two and buy more ammo or reloading components.
