Discussion in 'Cop Talk' started by CAcop, Nov 9, 2011.
Grin and Bear, just like sexual harassment in service.
Resist the urge to vomit...........
It all pays the same.
Seriously, it is full of joke. They said we need to respect gay blah blah but we can't discuss about the religion thing because it stirs up the heat in the discussion. What the heck! Same thing we can't talk about tea-party blah blah because of politically correction, what the heck!? I think you should start talking about respecting people that open carry the weapons because they are here to protect you........
The first time we had sensitivity training was around 1989 or '90. They brought in some gal from San Francisco to teach it. Early in the day, she was talking about making judgements based on appearances, and asked the group (a patrol team of 25 or 30 deputies) what kind of things came to mind about her as they looked at her. A crusty old-timer in the back row piped up and said "well, I can see you didn't spend too much time on your hair and makeup this morning."
It went downhill from there and she was almost crying by the end of the day. They brought in a tall, well-spoken, forceful old-timer of a male assistant chief to teach the other team.
Damn......one of the many things I no longer have to tolerate since retiring in 2009. Sat through that 'feel good, we are the world' indoctrination BS for at least 20 years.
And the offender in the videos was always some goofy White male.......
do your 12 and go the frack home.
Four more hours and I have no clue what the point is. They are teaching what not to say in Spanish. Strangely puto was not on the forbidden list. It was the only word I could think of when they asked me to say a word in Spanish.

Now we are covering micro expressions.

Never talk to the police civilians!!!
bro, i dont envy you at all but we've all been there......
Dos cervesas frios por favor.
I was actually pretty lucky at my last cultural diversity class. We got to watch Crash.
I'm afraid to ask what is a "micro expression"?

My only practical concern is, if you were born a female but think of yourself as a male (or visa versa), when you're in the prisoner's bathroom, can I look in to see if you're trying to drown yourself in the toilet?
And if in the bathroom you're trying to commit suicide, do I have to knock on the door and announce myself before entering?
They are covering our goals for this class. Someone wrote, "To learn to talk to people high on meth."
The instructor asked, "how do you know if they are high on meth?"
Response from the circle of trust, "They have a lot of copper wire and a ****load of porn."
