I love all my glocks but for consideration for CCW I am especially enamored with the 19, 30 and 27. The 36 ain't far behind this first group either. I love the way the 19 and 30 feel when a shoot them but I cannot seem to hide them on my body. I've used Fist, High Noon, Milt Sparks and Mitch Rosen holsters - no go. You can always see them with just a t-shirt or polo on. Too much mass. But the 27? Disappears. That 1/2 inch difference here and there makes all the difference on my weird body. So I'm looking to expand my baby-Glock stable with a G26 or g39. The 26 is the obvious safe way to go but I love the 45 caliber. Other than the chance the 45 gap could go away and is expensive, is there any other reason not to get a 39? Thanks!

Get the 26, forget the 39.

I'm not a GAP hater. I have a 37 and I actually shoot it. I'm a reloader, so I don't care if they stop making it.

Get the 39, forget the 26. I carry mine almost daily in a Galco horshide pocket holster or Blade-Tech paddle, sometimes a Blade-Tech Nano.

Let's see. Just went on Ammunition to go website. GAP ammo, 1 page of choices with both FMJs and JHPs. 9mm, 5 pages of FMJ and 6 pages of JHP choices. I don't know about you, but I'd rather go with a caliber that is; easier to shoot, holds more rounds, easier to find ammo and cheaper to shoot. But hey, if think the GAP is the way to go, then great. Better learn how to reload if you want to shoot it a lot.

26 gets my vote. 10+1 of a good modern service caliber and good ammo and you'll be fine.

I just bought a G26 and can carry one reload and have my choice of 21, 23 or 25 rounds depending on how I mix and match my two magazines.

That, in part is why I bought the Glock, I started to consider the capacity of the gun in terms of "how many double taps is that?"

    J frame, two double taps + 1
    K frame three double taps
1911 4 double taps (I only use 7 round mags)
G26 5 double taps +1 or 6 double taps +1 (I have both the 10 and 12 rd factory mags.)

We have had a lot of violent crime locally this year, much of which has involved 2-4 suspects and a single victim.

On the one hand I would like to have a larger caliber. On the other hand the 9mm is super easy to shoot fast and accurate, inexpensive to practice with and available just about anywhere, any time. I can stop at almost any Walmart or LGS and pick up a box or three.

I can highly recommend the subcompact package, how you stuff it is probably such a personal choice that only you can make it. Good luck.

Off the top of my head, whichever is less expensive. That said I carry and use my G26 much more then the G39.

I appreciate the responses. As I expected, lots of love for the 26 and a for the 39. Still not sure which I will choose.

My vote is for the g26. I carry one daily with a g19 barrel in it. 11rds vs 7. Plus the slide is wider on the g39. However the best ballistics in the baby glocks is probably the g33 that would give up only one round instead of 4 to the g26.

I'm bias too and like flexibility.
G27 with barrels and mags to have whatever you want.
40-9mm for low recoil and cheap ammo.
40 for lots of ammo choices and more power.
357 for that Need for Speed.

This Baby really does it all!

Of the two i'd go with the G26. Only because the Gen4 is out. Gen4 G39 may be a while yet. Dont care for the hump on the backstrap of the Gen3 models.

Thanks to all who replied!! I cant make up my mind. I think I'll get them both. The g26 because it's the smart thing to do and the g39 because I love the idea of it and it might be the smarter thing to do. The g26 will be easy - they are everywhere. Now if I can just find a g39 - the supply seems to sort of dry up all of a sudden?
