Interesting thread-Long time ago I picked up three FDE RTF frames. They all have LAV in the serial number prefix and even came with his magazine base plates.

Does this make them special?
To those who like the additions (the gold dot front sight, rear sight and RTFII textured grip) that the Vickers Tactical Editions offer, in a word, ''yes''.

So far as I can tell, there are four such additions at this time including the most recent done by Wilson. The 3rd edition of 2016, which consisted of a production lot of 5,000 units, was the last of the series to have the gold dot insert on the front sight. More recent editions, have a fiber optic front sight that some folks find preferable to either just a serrated black front sight or a gold dot insert.

Yesterday, while wandering aimlessly about one of my favorite LGSs (looking for something to spend money on), an absolutely pristine 3rd Edition Vickers Tactical G17.3 (2016) sitting in the display case happened to catch my eye. Surprised to find it in such good condition, I expected that it would have been fired at least a little bit, but was pleasantly surprised to find that it was still, in fact, brand new never having been fired outside of the factory as evidenced by zero wear of any sort on the upper and lower exterior bearing surfaces of the barrel. It also had all of the Vickers Tactical accessories (magazine base plates, grip insert/tool) still packed in a little zip seal bag in the factory clamshell case.

The original MSRP on these as noted earlier was $729.00 for a brand new specimen back in 2016. As the sales guy behind the counter was giving me the history of the gun (it was part of a large estate purchase of handguns and rifles, most of which had never been fired let alone taken out of their boxes), I happened to notice the price tag on it---$549.99 + tax & transfer--which was an irresistible bargain, IMO.

So, after lightening my wallet accordingly, 30 minutes later, it came home with me.

You made a good buy those were in stores for 600-650 from what I saw. Those are one of Glocks best kept secrets. Even though they are a newer release. That edition is my favorite.
Thanks, same here. The sights on these are what sells me on them. I'm a sucker (evidently it's easy for the gunshop sales guys to see me comin') for the 17.

I've wanted one of these ever since missing my chance back when they came out in '16. The unexpected appearance of this one at the LGS was a happy accident to be sure. I would have paid considerably more for this specimen given the fact that it is BNIB, but I wasn't about to tell the sales guy that!
