i had a good day drifting minnows off of my kayak today
the crappie were against the banks on the warm sides of the lake in about 10 feet of water.

i also hooked 2 channel cats too...they will fry up nicely too.

My 2 bass where much smaller ( barelly 12"-14" ) and maybe 1.25 in weight. Caught on a plastic zoom worm , rig on a carolina jib w/1/16oz weight. My Blue Gill was caught on a 1/16oz crappie jig.

i was hoping for a few big bluegills or shell crackers, but i didnt catch any..

ive got the shellcracker hole scoped out though and as soon as they move in, i will be after them.

here is one i caught last year...it was the size of my hand, if i spread all my fingers out as wide as i can. my buddy caught a few bigger than that.

Nice. Very very nice. ^6 ^c

The weather is warmin up quite nicely where I live so I hope I'll be able to wet a hook at least once or twice sometime over the next few weeks. However, in the meantime, takin' the time to do some turkey hunting will be my biggest outdoor related goal. If I get one I'll try to borrow a digital camera and post my turkey pics for all to see.

    dinner last night...

fish tacos..i fried the crappie up in strips and heated up some corn tortillas and made tacos.

you got to make the secret sauce though..

take a cup of sourcream and add a tablespoon of ground cayenne pepper to it and mix it up well.

i had a chipolte salsa and crumbled queso fresco as my cheese...

add a few avocado slices and some red onion and viola! dinner

Where are ya'll located at, anywhere near Alabama? I went Sunday morning to a place called the West Dike, we caught 21 bass and one catfish. Had 8 or 9 bass that were over 3 lbs apeice, 1 about 6 lbs,2 about 5lbs.,and another about 4 or so. The cat was about 5 to 6lbs. Had a good morning, caught them on rattletraps and spinerbaits. Well, 2 on worms. We got them all in about an hour and half time frame, just at day break. Man, i'd like to get into a mess of crappie though!!!!!You got some good uns.

Man you are making me hungry!

Missing those great lakes in Ohio.

IN Seattle, it's mainly trout in the lakes. Bass and catfish are harder to find.

im in nc...my buddy went out the other day and caught 15 crappie and 4 catfish...

i should have gone with him...i think ill fish this sunday
they are in the full swing of their spawn right now. i will probably locate the fish by trolling and then start casting in an area i am picking up fish, and then start dropping minnows on them once ive found a hotspot...
