A few months ago I got an SVI Infiniti on a trade. It looked awesome. No one had a 1911 like mine but after one range trip I sold it. I hated shooting it after shooting Glocks (9mm, .357SIG, .40, .45) was a pain and I saw no reason to keep the gun.

I sold it for a nice chunk of money and bought a couple of Glocks instead.

Then, the 1911 bug started itching again.

So I got this baby a couple of days ago. I won't carry it. I have a G27, G19 and a G23 for that.

I got some ammo and will be shooting it tomorrow.

It's a Kimber Pro CDP II. I changed the original grips to narrower grips and got two KimPro mags for it.

Hey Brian,

Another fellow Pro CDP II owner. It sure is nice to see some guys making good decisions.

BTW G23Gen4TX, the grips look good on there. I like the wood grips myself, but it is nice to see another alternative.

I hope it shoots well. The feed ramp on these things is so steep and with an 8 round magazine it seems that unless you really slam the slide closed then the top round will nosedive into the feed ramp.

One of the problems I had with the SVI was that it was jamming but that might also be the magazines. That's why I got the KimPro mags. I did get two kimber mags with it. An 8 and a 7 round but I thought, to be safe I'll get some extra mags.

I've put 200 rounds through this thing today. It shoots really nice and accurate. The sights are really good. It does beat up your hand unlike a Glock.

Had a couple of feeding stoppages. Nothing that a pull and let go on the slide didn't fix. It's not a carry gun so I son't care.

The gun is staying for sure. I love it.
