I was weak, and drove mine in the snow, salt, and sand. And with it being 6 degrees out, I can't wash the nasty off it...

So what? It's a car. Drive it for crying out loud. My best bud has an '07 coupe with the Sottozero snow tires on it. After the recent 2-footer snow storm we got here in VA, he was out in it once the plows did their work.

Read the book All Corvettes are Red by James Schefter if you get the chance. If you're not aware, it's the "behind-the-scenes" of the development of the C5 Corvette and how much trouble GM went through to get it made. There's a specific section about the Goodyear tires, and how they sucked so vaccuously in the snow. Dave Hill, the then VLE, went up one side of the Goodyear people and down the other, saying, "These tires are horrendous in the snow! You MUST do better!" Their answer: snow tires for the Corvette.

The Eagle Supercars you have on your Z06 are the next generation of the F1 tires developed for the C5. And yes, they absolutely SUCK in the snow.

At least the road-salt won't rust the bodywork.

Never heard of that book. It aint just the snow either, when the temps get down to about 40ish, there is no grip in these tires. I tend to forget over the summer, and when the cold hits, get a quick reminder.

I agree to an extent, but a car that sits 4" off the ground, aint too well suited for snow.

Why would you drive a vette in the snow? I bet it was a wild ride though.
