Everything seems to be running just fine, but this little "balloon" keeps popping up in the lower right corner of the screen. It's a 4 year old VAIO, running XP, and using MSN.
This is exactly what it says & how it says it:

    SEAL synchronization activity:msn.exe-corrupt file
the file or directory/documents and settings/default/application data/microsoft/msn/DB/mail(my email address)/index.new is corrupt and unreadable. Please run chkdsk utility.

The balloon-thing keeps popping up, and if the computer goes into "standby", when I wiggle the mouse to get the screen back up, there's a message in the middle of the screen that says the exact same thing as above. I haven't installed/downloaded anything new in a long time.
Thanks for any hints you can give.
    :headscratch:

click start button and click on RUN

type CMD in the run box and press ENTER

A black window will pop up
in the black window type CHKDSK /F

a message appears that asks you if you want to check the drive the next time you restart the computer, press Y and then enter.

reboot the computer and let it do it's thing.

I take no responsibility for what might happen. You can check this link also.
