Unsurprisingly this is an AP story:

Many red herrings in the above story. That they guns came from the same agency are a fluke, but one destined to happen due to the laws of probability.

Itty bitty text, no color, and no pictures here... but I'm in the process of buying a freakin' MACHINE GUN from the cops. Form 4 is in work for an ex-WV State Police AR15 complete with property tag and happy switch.

I got your awesome beat by a country mile

Well in all reality it doesnt matter much where it came from... if it wasnt that gun... odds are it would have been another gun... if guns didn't exist it would have been a sword or a knife... if they didn't exist... probably a speer or a rock... maybe an axe... or more poison tipped darts like they did back in the day...

My awesome balance is struggling with that one- T-Rex flying a Tomcat or a full-auto AR...

    OK, full-auto AR wins.

And people wonder why 95% of agencies just send the guns to be melted. When the civil suit hits I bet a couple of Memphis area LE agencies will change their practice.

This is simply the antis attempt at having ALL agencies melt down their guns instead of any being able to resell them. Might work, I don't know.

But that is their intent. Just want to make it harder to buy a gun, any gun.......that's all. In their view, once a gun is taken into "custody" by any department, it's to be destroyed.

That will make them happy, for a day.

I'll take the T-Rex pilot. AR is just fine without select-fire. Long range precision fire beats the hell out of spraying lead. At least in my little world.

Well, they can't now, it's the law that any gun, in working condition, must be sold instead of scrapped. The gov signed the law on the day of the Pentagon shooting. Shelby county used to melt all their confiscated guns, but once the new law takes place, they will have to sell them instead.

Funny thing is the media is blaming MPD. But, MPD sold the guns to federally licensed dealers. The dealers sold them to people after completing the states background checks. What the people did after that is anyone's guess. how many times were these guns sold privately before ending up the hands that used them to commit these crimes?

That's why it has a switch...

I agree with you in principal, but sometimes it's just plain fun to turn money into noise at a prodigious rate.

Plus, you might change your tune when that horde of zombies comes crashing through your bedroom window
