Need some input. If you were wanting to convert your .40S&W to shoot 9mm, would you rather spend $165+ shipping for a brand new KKM drop-in barrel or $250-300 for a lightly used complete slide??

Pros and Cons of each would be great.

For reference, I just got a new 23C, and am in the market to convert to shoot 9mm (as well as .357sig). There is a very nice complete G19 slide on here for a fair price, and I'm torn on what to do.

Any input is appreciated. And, I will be posting pics of the new girl as soon as possible; in a new thread of coruse.

    Pro's on the new slide:
You can fine tune the sight settings specificly for 9 mm.
    Con's on the new slide:
It's going to be really tough to find one.

    Pro's on the KKM barrel:
You can buy lead bullets at $60/1000 vs $95/1000 for plated vs $110/1000 for FMJ. Lead bullets can achieve higher velocity with less powder so you save there too.
It's going to be more accurate than the Glock barrel.
    Cons:
Probably will not shoot to exactly the same point of aim as the .40.

I bought the lone wolf barrel and a KCI mag to go into 9mm from the .40. I do get an occasional jam, but nothing that would hinder a day at the range. I would not use the 9mm for self defense as I do not trust it to work 100% of the time, but for a little fun at the range it is wonderful.
