Initially, I found the Glock OEM triggers to be a bit hard. I was coming from .22s in which lightening the trigger is a never-ending quest. (I guess I was spoiled....)
So I set up both my Gen 3 G19 and G17 with a 6# trigger spring, reduced power striker safety spring, 4# striker spring, polished all metal-to-metal contacts and put in a Ghost standard 3.5 connector. (Neither a carry gun.) It made a big difference and I liked it.
Just for the heck of it after shooting a couple of 1000 rounds thru each I wanted to try putting the OEM 5.5 connector back in and leave all else the same. (Don't really know why, just playing to see what it would feel like.)
To my surprise, it didn't feel any harder to pull while dry firing. I did, to some extent, feel a bit of difference in "feel". I don't know enough about it to say what this is so I'll go with the "crispness" that is talked about. Still much lighter than out of the box but it felt different.
I took the 19 with the 5.5 back in and the 17 with the 3.5 still in to the range. Seemed like no difference. The two guns' triggers felt almost identical except for the above-mentioned "crispness" of the break in the 5.5 equipped 19. And I liked it better!
So I came home, took 'em apart for cleaning and put the 5.5 connector back into the 17 so it should have the different feel, also. Curious to see if it performs the same next trip out. I did notice, while "riding the reset", that the little 'click' it makes was different, also and more "clicky" with the 5.5 than the more dull click with the 3.5.
But this seems (to me) strange. Why change the connector to a 3.5 if, with all other mods made for lightness, the 5.5 connector's lightness is about the same? Granted, I didn't use a gauge and it is strictly my feel but still.... :dunno:
