When is Glock going to place the G47 slide (same length as G17 slide) on the Gen 5 G19 frame and call it the 17X !

Interesting choice. Glock is dominating the Federal LE market more than ever.

I voted don't care, but I think the choice is fine. You can't fault anyone for choosing a G19. The G47 is neither fish nor fowl to me: I don't see the advantage over a G17, but I don't dislike it either.

It would seem more prudent to get all short grips if you are using any. Two agents in a car with the different models can only swap one way. I know that's not a huge problem, but seems silly none the less.

Interesting. Another agency falling to the 9mm kool-aid.

I’d think that all spare mags would be the full size, for compatibility.

I would like to see their choice of ammo too!
(Unless that was listed in the article.)
The 9mm finally has earned its spurs, so long as it is used with modern HP loading.

This is what I did at my department. We have a mix of 31 and 32 guns in service. The people with the 32 get one 13 round mag to use in the gun. The other 13 rd mags I throw in storage and issue them 15 round mags to use as spares.

Ounces = pounds in a suit and tie, the G19 will serve them well.

I guess this leaves only the DEA with .40cal Glocks as they ordered G4 G22, 23 & 27’s a couple of years back..

Actually, it didn’t. Otherwise, we’d likely not have 10mm, .40, and .357 Sig.

With modern loadings though, it makes sense today.

An excellent choice, indicative of the excellence of the Glock design. The USSS enters the 21st Century.
