Nothing screams 'I have a gun!' quite like a vest...except for a fanny pack.

I am partial to the excellent vests from Concealed Carry Clothiers. I especially like their pocket carry holsters for mag, OC or combatlite carry.

Seriously. On the rare occasion when I carry a gun right out in the open, most people don't even see it.
I find it extremely unlikely that anybody other than a trained professional would have any idea that there was a concealed gun.

I always nod and ask what they're carrying when I spot the fanny pack. Most of them look genuinely suprised at the question.

I second the Coronado leather suggestion.

When I see a guy wearing a vest I Always ask -"What ya packin?" About 80% of time they tell me.

A lot of them turn out to be Off Duty, or Retired LE.

Its amazing in some areas the number of folks with fanny packs who are NOT carrying. I do admit I take a 2nd look at folks using a fanny pack with jeans, (and women who also carry a purse) with fanny pack...

If I am amusement park, hiking/etc I like fanny pack.

    I'll add a +1 on Coronado Leather.

They make great vests and jackets. Worth every penny.

RUBBISH. Most people don't even recognize a FANNY PACK as a concealed carry device. What makes you think they recognize a VEST?

You give the general public (AND the bad guys) WAY too much credit.

Only Gun people know this. I've mentioned this to people who don't have guns and they had no idea. Around here it's not the case anyway.

I wear a black fleece Comlumbia vest daily to cover my duty weapon.
