Anybody got any suggestions for a nice set in the $300.00 range? I'm getting more and more into mp3s and would like somthing to mount in my home office and hook my laptop or my Archos av500 up to.

My GF's $49.95 Logitech 2+1 solution sounds almost as good as my custom setup.

I got some nice Altec Lansing's for about $150.....what kind of soundcard you got? I hear (pun intended) the new Sound Blaster Xi's are pretty sweet. I am using an old Audigy 1 card and it sounds good :)

Might just be me but there is no way I would pay $300 bucks for speakers if I had onboard sound :freak:

    EDIT - BAH...somehow I missed laptop there...sorry

I gotta agree, spending 300 bucks on speakers for onboard sound just is a waste of money. World of difference when I went from my dell 9200 notebook to my current build with an audigy 2 zs platinum pro sound card, and I'm just using a pair of 40 dollar creative speakers.
