This is kinda Tech related, hopefully someone has some help for me.

I am looking for a notebook mount for my 2000 F-150 that is relatively affordable. I am getting my notebook ready for a GPS map setup and dont want to lay the computer in the seat.

    anyone have any recommendations.

    Thanks in advance

Maybe try posting in Cop Talk too. They may know what's in their vehicles.

I've done it in my Tundra but found that mounting the laptop a bit restrictive. I made a mount that attached to the arm rest. Just laying it on the arm rest console was better for me. We can turn it back and forth that way or close it and move it to the back quickly.

But do get a mount for your GPS. It helps it stay locked on signal better.

What hardware/software do you plan to use?

I have a Dell with TopoUSA and Microsoft Streets and Trips runnig under a Magellan Meridian Gold GPS. Runs sweet.

They take up a lot of room though....wish someone would give me a really fine color PDA just for the GPS...or maybe a DVD player sized screen with a CPU in the back seat...hmmmm.

I think that digitspaw has a setup similar to what you are looking for.

You might try to PM him.
