Freedom Outpost, Tim Brown, Feb 23, 2013, has an article concerning 44 companies that have stated they will no longer sell their products to law enforcement and government agencies.

    reason being:
these agencies are running roughshod over the 2nd amendment in their zeal to control guns&citizens.

Considering the Federal government is buying up ammunition put yet wants to pass anti-gun laws, I think the major ammo manufacturers should refuse to sell to them.
Kudos to Midway for joining in.

After looking at the companies on the list and not on the list, I came to the determination that it is very easy to be righteous when you have no skin in the game in the first place.

I'm sorry but Midway is huge, I buy from them quite a bit.
They even sponsor TV shows and you think their just being righteous protecting our 2nd amendment rights?
Then you shouldn't even be in this forum

I applaud these companies, for standing up against the destruction of the 2A. The companies are however putting their companies, in some financial jeporady, by doing this. Do they have the financial ability to withstand this loss and still be a viable company?

We need to support these companies, in any way we can.

We do not buy anything from Midway. Usually we buy straight from a local LE only dealer/distributor or from the factory.

So you all boycotting every ammunition (and primers) manufacturer that isn't on the list?

I still think this is mostly just political posturing to gain favoritism among consumers more than any meaningful, strategic, or well thought out plan to implement change. We'll see if it goes anywhere or just becomes a footnote in forgotten history.

Even if it goes nowhere as you put it, I believe they will be earning more loyal customers with their integrity. Some of us out here don't just buy from anyone and aren't only out to get the cheapest price regardless. We spend our money at places with similar beliefs.

Large agencies tend to do that since they they put out bid contracts for their equipment. Lots more of us work for smaller agencies and have to provide equipment for ourselves.

My AR is an Essential Arms lower filled with a DPMS parts kit and a Rock River upper all purchased from multiple sources including Midway.

I agree with the boycotts. If you are going to starve govt, you have to starve all of it including the parts that we tend to favor such as LE.

That is what it is really about, making you choose their company over the competition because of a marketing decision masquerading as "integrity".

I like Midway, Larry donates a lot of money to the NRA and other real efforts. But I don't think they did many (or any) LEA sales prior to stating they won't do anymore.

Pledging to not do what you never did anyhow.
