Yep, $1100 or so is going rate. They are $1097 at Wal-Mart. If you hunt around online, they can be found as low as $950, last I checked.

Decent price. Can't find much lower than that, plus the convenience of not shipping one is worth a few bucks more

The Colt 6920 is as close as you can get to the Colt M4 they make for the military.
Rolls off of the same line.

I have heard that all not all aftermarket AR parts will fit in a Colt 6920, due to some few parts in the Colt being proprietary in dimension... This is just something I heard, not a false claim that I'm trying to spread... Anybody know the skinny on that..?

To the OP primary question about Colt quality, I have spent the last 2 months searching for a candidate to be my first AR15... In that time I haven't read any complaints about Colts quality being subpar, but rather everyone seems to trust the Colt to be what an AR is supposed to be whic is to be quite accurate for a battlefield rifle and that is reliable given humane care... No complaints that I felt came from a valid source...

thats spot on. Im actually surprised its not going for more in light of Obama winning and the recent massacres that spur gun ban rumors? Better get it at that price now before the store tries to make a few more bucks off the crowds.

The Colt LE6920 his a great m4. It is at the top of th M4's, the only other one out there that compares is the BCM M4 which is also at the top and I would rather have the BCM because you can get a mid length gas system.

As far as the aftermarket items not fitting on the Colt, just get everything that is mil spec. I think the pin diameter for the trigger is the only difference on the Colt versus other M4's.

I paid $1079 for mine 2 years ago. Better get it while you can, I know the BCM's went up in the last few months.

Colt stopped using proprietary parts a couple years ago.
