Hi sir Jezzz. Try to field strip your gun and look for the disconnector...kung meron, series 80 yan.

check the slide and look for the firing pin block safety, it looks like a plunger at the rear end of the slide, if your gun got it, its an '80

VK probably meant the firing pin block rather than the disconnector.

    lahat ng 1911's meron disconnector.

main diff. between the 2 is the presence of the firing pin block.

rack the slide and engage the slide stop. turn the pistol over and look at the bottom of the slide near the hammer side. if the slide is solid, without any protrusions or hole in the slide, series 70, kung meron small button or hole, series 80.

military issued goverment models made by Colt being one of the gun companies authorized by the US Gov. to make pistols for the US forces yang toys mo pare.

the barrel of my parkerized pistol is 779... maganda klase ba ito compared to the barrel that i have in my other pistol which is a standard barrel of the colt pistol?

i will bring my toys this coming 18 nov, anyway i am just few blocks away from the venue so that i can have lessons from you guys when it comes to upgrading and shooting skills..... ;Q

kasama kasi sa mga requirement ng US Military na dapat ay chromelined ang barrel ng lahat ng weapons nila for ease of maintenance, try to look inside m14 & beretta (92FS) puti ito at akala mo ay stainless inside. sabi nga nila ay pwede mong linisin using water & soap only during war kung walang barrel solvents without worrying about rust;P

i will post a pic pagdumating na iyong upper ko na 779... any info would be greatly appreciated!

paltiq is right, the term "779" refers to the type of barrel in a milspec 1911. the term "ANAD" is a marking for the frame. i heard these frames are tough.

i was able to fire a couple of those milspec 1911's. maganda ang putok nya, considering int's been around for quite a while. sayang din yung series 70, kung iniwanan sanang stock yan ay nakakapang hinayang gamitin. Colt Series 70s are considered a holy grail among Colt Collectors
