the new agent I have shot was with trench sites and standard SAO...cool gun...I dig the trench sights. Never tried a DAO 1911.... heck to me the point of the 1911 is the sweet trigger and of course thin slide for concealment.

I have the 3 inch model with trench sites. It's one of my 2 daily carry preferences. 7 +1 45ACP in a reliable 3" 1911. Love it.

The trench sites do take some getting used to.

i've got close to 500 rds thru mine with no probs. i like it very much. but it is what it is. for me it's 15 yrds or less. conceals very good, and handles 185's easily. 185+p will get your attention, but it's not that bad. if you want more rds and more power than a 2in snubbie, it's the one. but then i've got a little colt bias. colt was the first 1911 i ever bought 25 yrs ago and i've been very lucky with them.

I thought it was going to be a new lightweight .38 snubby from Colt until I clicked on the link.

Here is my Colt Agent. Not the best looking horse but she has been with me for 25 years.

A good CCW piece there. BTW, Colt will reblue it if you send it back to the factory.

Exactly. Go with a defender instead.

I would go with the Defender, a DA 1911 does not "feel" right to me...

And that new agent has the DA trigger, which IMO ruins one of the best reasons to shoot a 1911, the trigger.

I never could quite figure out why the Double Eagle was not way more popular. Of course I also expected the Detonics to become as common as a Chief's Special too...

Because if you wanted a DA .45acp, you would get a SIG 220 which is a better gun. Also, the Double Eagle was one of the most ugly guns of all time. The best thing about a 1911 is the SA trigger so who would buy an ugly 1911 with a DA trigger? The gun never made since and people knew it.

that da new agent is in colts dao series. the new agent everyones buying, according to my dealer, is the SAO new agent. #O7810D. series 80 firing system, and all the other attributes of it's bigger brothers. cocked and locked, sweet SAO trigger. like i said, it's the perfect pistol for someone who wants more rds and more power than a 2in 38 snubbie.

To me this gun would make an ideal retirement piece for me when I hang it up. I like the idea of a double action gun after carrying revolvers and glocks all these years.
