I still have all of the original parts. I also swapped out the flat serrated plastic mainspring housing for a Pachmayr arched unit. Those are nice. Not sure the trigger or grips are original by the way. For a view of most of the 40S&W 1911s Colt made one can look at Walt's model list.

At 6'7" I have huge mits and really need the arched mainspring housing. It came from the factory with an arched nylon (I thought it was flat but then I stumbled across the original) unit but I swapped for an ancient Pachmayr rubber unit. It sort of matches the Navidrex grips.Noticed the arched mainspring housing...I tried those on a Deffy and an Officer's, but went back to flat, checkered alloy.

Some guy at Colt I guess. It's the factory unit the early Enhanced models came with. Though it doesn't allow for the highest possible grip it's really comfortable. Between it, the arched mainspring housing and the huge trigger guard relief it sort of wedges the gun in the hand.Who fit the grip safety?
