    Colt 6920 ?

I've got a Colt 6920 I bought NIB a couple of years ago I "had" to have before I learned a little more about them, and have since decided I'd be better served by a BCM 16" mid length.

Luckily, I have never shot the 6920 and it is still NIB. I am now saving for the BCM, knowing well it will be some time before a 16" mid length BCM is even available to order at this point.

I am NOT looking to sit on the 6920 as an investment given Colt is no longer offering them, but does anyone honestly think at this point a NIB 6920 is private hands is going to go up to any kind of considerable amount going forward?

I just want to know if this thing is going to be worth anything to a Colt collector at some point or someone who just "really, really" wants a Colt AR, or is going to stay at the "around $800 or so around price" that the typical half way decent ARs were going for, pre-virus and pre-rioting spring / summer of 2020 has turned out to be?

I'm not looking to make a move anytime soon as I have other rifles and a couple of AKs available if needed, but if I can hang on to this thing until I can save for and get my BCM, I'd like to and keep it NIB if possible?

Thanks for your opinions, and NO you can not have it right now for $500 bucks either :) LOL

The last one I bought a few years ago was around $1250 as I recall. I think at some point Colt will again offer the 6920 to the private market. In my opinion, if you want to let it go, now is the time. And NO, I’m not interested. I wish you well.

Well nothing like a little virus and rioting to get business going again at Colt huh?

Luckily I'm not in a rush to get it rid of it, and in the mean time until I have all the funds and BCM has guns available to at least even order I have one for now. Heaven forbid it all goes to s**t politically in the end, at least I already have a decent AR one way or another.........

    Thanks -

I sure never saw a LE6920 for $800.00. The lowest I saw was at Wal Mart of all places at $1150.00. I ordered mine for $1200.00 and was glad to get it. Colt may be releasing more but I would say they're going to be pricey. IMG_2155.JPG

Sorry, I meant pre-virus / rioting / spring 2020 prices for pre-owned but NIB (the price I figured it was worth realistically if I tried to sell it privately at THAT time, not now).

I paid $1200 for it new roughly 2 years ago.

I know I could flip it now easily, but that would leave me with nothing, and I want to at least wait until as I said I can order a new BCM before I even consider selling it, again "just in case" that doesn't happen due to politics going forward. :( Again, figure if I go that route one way or another at least I still have a decent one if all goes to hell.

Again, not trying to invest or make a profit, just want to cover my a$$ until I can get the BCM I want.

    Thanks -

You should save up a bit more and get the Mod 2. I love mine.

I bought one in 2017 or 2018 for $900 NIB. Since I've seen them online for $800-850 (before they were briefly discontinued). I imagine they'll go for $1000-1100 again now that Colt is shipping once more.

Every Colt I have had, whether it was the M16E1 back in the day or the SOCOM I have now, they were all great rifles. Very accurate and reliable. There is no way that I personally would give up a Colt for a BCM.

Why would you want to get rid of such an amazing weapon? Keep it and love it.

I would keep it and build what you want over the next couple years.. build the lower this year and start thinking about your barrel and BCG and gas system

My first AR15 was a Kalifornia 6920 with the "bullet button" bought back in 2014 for $1000.

I was considering using the Colt lower and just purchase a pinned 14.5" upper from BCM.

But I decided to keep the Colt intact and get a 14.5" pinned BCM upper with a Aero Precision lower and make an AR15 rifle like that.

If you intend to sell, sell soon. Colt will be starting to sell AR15s again to the civilian market.

I generally hold onto good things difficult, or sometimes difficult, to obtain.

Then, it wouldn't occur to me to sell ammo or mags just now.

I have mine. Bought it with a department letterhead back during the ban. Had a shooting with it and it did it's job. Colt's quality wasn't as good then as after the ban (they really stepped up their game with the competition). But it still works fine.

Yeah, these days I wouldn't take less than $1800.00 for mine.

Plus, a 6920 wears the Pony, ... so you know it ain't one of them cloney-phonies. :animlol:
