I just bought a Colt LE6920C. Thats what it says on the box.

The roll mark says "M4 Carbine" not "military/law enforcement only".

So since it doesnt say mil/LE only why doesnt the label on the box say its an "SP6920"?

I thought if it doesnt have the older discontinued roll mark that says "mil/LE only" then its automatically the newer "SP" model???

What do the SP6920's look like? I thought they are identical?

Colt did away with the SP markings, and dropped the "LE/MIL ONLY" markings from the LE line, if I remember right. They now sell the LE series to the public to simplify the production process.

i just bought a colt 6920, my serial # starts with "SP" looks to me like yours starts with "LE" other than that every thing else looks exactly the same.

That looks right to me too. I have seen models still around with both markings. I guess it depends on what they have in stock. I also like the 6921 models. From the op's pic it does look like a current model configuration.
