I have this old Colt 6724. I don’t recall when I bought it, maybe 19 to 20 years ago. It has been a steady performer that would easily shoot sub MOA with good ammo. Never shot it out past 100 yards due to lack ranges that go past 100 yards around here. I quit shooting it due to other AR’s coming into fold. Me and two partners recently bought a gun range. We have a 200 yard line now. So this week end I decided to break out the 6724 and see what it would do. Loaded up some ammo, went through the my 223 / 556 section and pulled some partial boxes of ammo. Mounted a Vortex HS-T 6-24 on it and put it through some shooting. I did not have a dollar bill on me for size comparison so my thumb will have to do. I would say it shot pretty good groups at 200 yards. 55 grain Hornady Varmint load 55 grain Hornady hollow point My 55 grain FMJ hand loads. Figured I would add a picture of the rifle. Old school cool.
