So I'm red-green colorblind and have lived life well enough, but always wondering what everyone else sees. I just borrowed some older 'colorblind glasses' and it's really made for some vibrant new views of the world with red especially. They do have a red tinge to the lenses though. It's definitely neat being able to distinguish between red and green/brown in places where I was never able too like magic. Looking up these glasses they are not made anymore and the company doesn't appear to make colorblind specific glasses (at least on their website currently.) There are some now that seem like the best colorblind glasses called Enchroma. I'm tempted to buy a pair but they are $429 bucks. Hoping maybe someone here has had them for an unbiased review if they are worth it.

Anyone ever try a pair? Thoughts?

I've relied on beer googles a few times. Sorry I don't have an answer to help you but I do wish you luck on finding some glasses that work for you.

What color do you see when looking at something red?

Does the red dot on a C-more disappear on a green target?

Supposedly this is a picture you can tell. They look the same to me.

Not usually, due to the brightness of it. Sometimes when we had green or red painted steel though and there was some weeds and stuff on the side of the berm it would be tough to see rapidly scanning for the target and I'd have to remember to look hard in the specific area.

On a side note I got a little drunk and ordered the glasses last night, hope they are worth the 440 bucks!

See, beer googles DO work: they looked less expensive when you ordered them!

I didn't know I was red/green colorblind until Ihad my first real "physical" checkup at age 24.
Kinda knew I had trouble with some colors;but when I was shown the dot color designs that have
a number or letter spelled out in contrasting colors I saw one with no number/letter that I could
see! So, I am red/green colorblind. Anything goes with denim. Right?

Always reminds me of the Red Green show on tv. He had some great quotes:"I am a man. I can change. I guess. If I have to."
"Keep your stick on the ice." etc.

It's not like that. The test below, using red and green, people like me cannot see a number. Legally speaking, red and green deficiencies make you "color blind" and will keep you out of some MOS in the military. But we can still see red and green and the other colors.

I can see the 12 in this test, but if it was red and green, I wouldn't.

[IMG]I cannot see a number in this one, I'm assuming there is one:[IMG]

Oddly enough, in the picture in my post, I can only make out the top of the seven and the slant of the four. But I cannot tell if it is a 27, 77, or maybe even a 5x.

In your reply, I can vaguely see the 74 in the picture. I guess the colors are somehow changed in the quote.

Sitting in the woods right now watching cardinals hop around and it makes me wonder. Would you be able to see a red bird hopping around in brown leaves? Could you see the movement and such? They have some black on their faces, so they're not a perfect example.

ETA: just thought about how hosed you'd be following a blood trail like I hope to be doing shortly.

Sorry, just bored in the woods.

I think that when you are red/green color blind you sorta "learn" the colors as "you" see them. Doesn't mean
they are the colors others see.

I cannot see a "74" in the second color-circle thingy.

Red roses on a rose-bush are hard for me to see at all.

    Stop lights are easy.

Pink petals in a brown bush are hard for me to see. But that is another story.
