enlighten me please.
You think Daniel-San was the instigator in the movie?
What should he have done, let his ass get kicked on the beach without even fighting back, maybe watch Ali get pushed around some more?
I ditched Neflix, but some of the guys on my squad are talking about this show. Is it an updated version of Karate Kid?
Not an updated version per se, its the characters grown up now. Daniel and Johnny are adults and have lives and families.
Oh, and you root for Johnny now.
Being the 2020 version, is it safe to assume Daniel and Johnny are married to each other and Johnny is mad because Daniel is transitioning into a woman?
Ali would have done just fine on her own against Johnny.
My son worked at buildings where they shot some of the show and got several items when the filming was over . He brought me some of the lighting stuff and he got several items that where used in the show .I don't what all he got but he showed me one of the business card that Daniel had .
Im a fan, even my girl is into it who called it a "boys show"
Ali holding her own against Johnny really wasn't the issue. In the movie I saw, a young man watched the girl he'd just had a great time with at a beach party (and whom he was obviously smitten with) get bodily harassed and her radio broken by a Type-A "no really means yes if you push it hard enough" D-bag whom she clearly wanted nothing to do with.
So, he tries to make peace between the two and at least get her radio back. Because that's what a real man does: stands up for a woman he perceives to be in distress, knowing he might well get his ass kicked in the process.
I'm shocked that there appears to be people on the other side of this who view Daniel as the ****-stirring troublemaker, but I guess I shouldn't be. This is Glocktalk, after all.
EVERY show I watch, I look where it is filmed, and like SO many other shows, I saw that this one was filmed in Georgia. They need to move the Hollywood sign over to your neck of the woods with as much film production that is going on there. Yep, if it isn't filmed in Georgia, then it is most likely filmed in Canada. Also, I've seen shows recently on Netflix or Amazon Prime which supposed to have taken place in the US, but they were filmed in S. Africa and Australia. CA must have REALLY priced itself out of the production business.
There are diatribes on the net that explains why Daniel Son is the instigator. Now his wife in the series is a smoking hottie. Definitely wax off over her.

My Son has some type of IP scrambler & a Plex account. That combo covers us.
Lol, perhaps you're unaware that the whole argument has been turned into a plot thread for the show and is being used as a marketing tool, as well. There are clips from the show of Johnny explaining "his side" and a podcast or similar with the two actors defending the actions of their characters from the original movie. It's pretty funny, truth be told. By the way, I've never watched an episode, mainly because we canceled Netflix last year and I never paid for premium youtube.
If you really want to blow your mind, there are Reddit groups argue that neither Thanos neither Palpatine's Empire did anything wrong, lol.
Good show, back to the 80's and I love it.

Sorry I insulted your favorite 80's movie hero. But, after all, it is a movie.
Wait, Martin Kove is back? That guy hasn't change much in the past 30 years.
I know him from Hard Time on Planet Earth (Warning: Police Brutality at 2:00)
The Stingray was the baddest dude of them all.
So what happened to Kumiko, the chick from Karate Kid II? Daniel was just hittin' it and quittin' it? Did she have their love child and now he owes all that back child support?
