"CNN is suffering a credibility crisis as viewership for the once-proud network continues to crater with no apparent plan in place to fix things anytime soon, according to media watchdogs and insiders.

CNN’s audience shriveled in the second quarter of 2019, averaging only 541,000 total viewers, less than half Fox News Channel’s 1.3 million average. But CNN struggled even more during the primetime hours of 8-11 p.m. ET, finishing as the fifteenth most-watched network on basic cable behind networks such as TLC, Investigation Discovery and the Hallmark Channel. CNN averaged a dismal 761,000 primetime viewers while FNC averaged 2.4 million."

should have happened eons ago. their bias and outright lies have turned off their viewers. people will only stand for so much crap before they turn and leave for good. couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of left-wing wackos. they will not be missed!

They asked for it. Arrogantly and consistently.

I think he helped, but I think CNN broke CNN.

Just SOOOO blatantly biased and everything has to be a negative on the Right.

Long gone are the days of Cronkite. Journalism, as we knew it back in the day, is dead.

    This is wholly self-inflicted.

If their viewer numbers aren't any more accurate than their political poll numbers, it's probably even worse than they're willing to admit.

Perhaps they might have a chance to try and salvage their reputation if they bought out the contracts of all of their pundit hosts and replaced them with actual correspondents and news anchors.

Or, they'll decide to triple and quadruple down on their mistakes and continue to think they can fool viewers into thinking they're still a news organization instead of a series of different talk shows.

Remember during a war in the Middle East when it was generally acknowledged that more than one or three people in the military were watching CNN as a/the source for the most current activity there?

I was remembering the coverage they had of the San Bernardino terrorist rampage.

As the tragedy was unfolding, they immediately assembled a panel of experts explaining the shooter was clearly a disgruntled employee. They loaded up on panel experts, psychologists, on how disgruntled employees act, etc.

It just wasn't going to be an act of Islamic terrorism on their watch.

When your sole job is news and you only use the "news" for a political agenda, your place in the world is transient.

When we invaded Iraq and were bombing Baghdad, we counted on CNN every night to keep us informed. I haven't watched CNN in years.

CNN is more interested in their leftist Propaganda line than viewership numbers.
I does not matter who they put on camera as their management is pushing the "narrative".

    The little network that could.

I think there are a lot of parallels between William Randolph Hearst and Ted Turner.

The truth is when Ted Turner was still enjoying his swashbuckling image as an enigmatic entrepreneur, all was fine.

When the world started to really get to know Ted Turner and what a complete jumble of whacked out ideas he truly was, it was only a matter of time before the lunatics were running the asylum and any hope of CNN becoming what they could have become was lost for good.

The NYT WP and big three national networks plus AP UPI controlled the "news " of the day. Actually propaganda of the day.
Those were the days of Walter Cronkite shoveling opinions as news stories onto the public.
I thought of that watching some of his rebroadcast of Apollo missions .
I was 13 when the Eagle has landed
But watched as much of it on anything but CBS.

When I am president or regional warlord with the proper jurisdiction, CNN will have to answer for their lies and treason.
