Just saw this on CNN..... Would'nt you know it.....
I feel so bad for these families.
More fuel for the "Anti's"! Aaarrrrrgh!
Biggest mass shooting in US history!
My wife and I just had that conversation. So fustrating. Your telling me there wasn't one ccw there??? Could of changed the outcome 180 degrees.
Word is that Cinemark Holdings Inc. the parent company for Century 16 had a strict "no guns" policy for all of its theatres. CHL holders tend to be more law abiding an would adhere to this type of restriction.
Why is it called the biggest shooting spree in history when Columbine had 13 dead, 15 if you include the shooters. This "Batman" spree had 12 dead. Yes, more injured, but isn't the number of killed more important (as in tragic)?
Not to mention the Virginia Tech shooting, which killed 32 people.
There is also the University of Texas-Austin shooting which killed 16.
Gotta love media sensationalism.
Agreed. The only thing "policy" does is disarm the good guys.
I mean, wow, didn't the bad guy read the 'no guns' sign? Maybe they should make it bigger or use a bold font.
Because 71 people were shot. Right now, it is not the "deadliest" shooting spree but, that could change with at least 10 in critical condition.
Wow. And they want more gun control and more gun restrictions??? Looks like its working out great.
I'm surprised that noone tried to tackle him.
I believe that the large number of injuries is due to the tear gas, not that 71 were actually shot. EMS would report people treated for tear gas exposure as injured. Also any injury that may have been sustained while trying to run away.
Added: Never mind. The more I read the more I learn that he very well may have shot that many.
Could be but, he emptied a 100 round drum from that AR-15 alone.
Where did it say he had a drum?
Sad story but a another example of why CCW carry is so importaant.
"no guns" policy, how'd that work out? Commie pukes make me sick.
CNN reported it.
From CNN.com and several other sources.....
"Investigators also found a drum magazine, capable of carrying 100 rounds of ammunition, which was attached to the AR-15 rifle, two law enforcement officials said. "
59 wounded (shot) and 12 dead according to CNN.
Even if those 10 people die, it falls 10 deaths short of the Virginia Tech shooting. An injury could be anything - a person trips while trying to escape and scrapes their knee. I think it's severely premature for the sensationalist media to call it the biggest shooting spree in US history. JMO.
The Police Chief just said that 71 people were shot which makes it the largest shooting spree in US history by one person. The Virginia Tech shooter shot 49 people, killing 32 or 33 and is the deadliest shooting spree by one person in US history.
sad to hear. most movie theaters have a non gun policy. most movie theaters around here have cops chilling outside as well. I think from the news, that the AR15 did the most damage. Guy seems like he did not want to get hurt as he executed his plan and surrendered.
I still maintain that death count renders Virginia Tech, University of Texas-Austin and Columbine H.S. as "bigger" shooting sprees.
Putting "Biggest Shooting Spree" in a article headline ensures that more people will click on the link and hence more advertising money is earned for that media outlet. It's media deceit. JMO.
By the by, almost every article I read reports a different number of people shot, some as low as 50. Also, some articles report that "X number of injured people where taken to the hospital, Y number with gun shot wounds."
I think it will be a few days before the true numbers are known and not just media conjecture.
