WSJ article which has this quote which the article ends with it. So because Trump fights back, he doesn't like him. Disappointing.

"As for the domestic political scene, Mr. Eastwood seems disheartened. “The politics has gotten so ornery,” he says, hunching his shoulders in resignation. He approves of “certain things that Trump’s done” but wishes the president would act “in a more genteel way, without tweeting and calling people names. I would personally like for him to not bring himself to that level.” As he drives me back to my hotel, he expresses an affinity for another former mayor: “The best thing we could do is just get Mike Bloomberg in there.”

I'm not going to subscribe to read the article......from your quote in post #1, I'm feeling CE has missed the boat with Trump.....it's his appeal to the main stream America that makes him so successful with his base. CE isn't a part of that base.

In the past, I do feel CE has had some great political commentary (the empty chair)....but, his vision isn't focused on just what makes Trump one of the greatest presidents in decades.....or, more!

No, Clint did not say that.

Bloomberg would be a do nothing figure head president that allows the establishment to get back to business as usual.

Clint is one of the few Hollywood types that I'll forgive for disappointing political remarks. He isn't a liberal, he just dislikes Trump's manner. Lots of Republicans dislike Trump's manner.

Clint is gettin' old, and his thinking may be a little addled. In his prime, I'm guessing he'd be wearing a MAGA hat.

This guy provided so many movies for my enjoyment, and he was a macho man through and through. Clint won my admiration for sitting a horse as naturally as any cowboy and totin’ a long barrel S&W .44mag.

I’ll cut Clint lots of slack, just like I would an old friend.

I don't particularly care for Trumps "manner". Although I've liked most of is policies (except bump stocks).

I think having MB being the democratic nomination would be good, I think Trump would destroy him in every debate and in the general.

Say it ain’t so Flint!! I’m with the gang that’s either liable to forgive CE because he’s so damn cool and he’s getting up there in decades or, don’t believe he actually said Bloomberg needs to beat Trump.

Meh, methinks 'ol Clint was just rambling and the whole thing was taken out of context. Maybe he meant get him the nom. Maybe to stir the pot... who knows. I find it a little tough to believe Clint would be a fan of a rabid gun grabber unless he's really dropped off the edge in the last few years.
The whole freekin economy would take a header the day Bloomberg got elected.

Clint knows how easily Trump will destroy Mikey in the election and how disruptive he would be to the Dems.

If it's true and I hope to Josey Wales that it isn't, he's one more beloved heavyweight of mine off my list. For me to do otherwise would be hypocritical. I don't buy that his mind is going. On a recent golf telecast he was in the booth and was sharp. If someone can find a link with him denying that he said he's for Bloomberg please share it.
