YES! Every time no matter the number of rounds. As soon as
I get a chance. It is easy to do and doesn't take long. I was
was taught that a good carpenter takes care of his tools.
I don't want to take a chance something won't work, just because I forgot to clean it, when I need it.

i take all of my pistolas with me every trip to the range and fire at a minimum of 100 rounds through each on every trip. regardless of how many rounds put through them, its one of my personal little rules to clean all of my firearms the same day i shot them. i usually try to clean them all as soon as i get back home. the 2 glocks, the sig, and the usp i can clean each in about 20 minutes. the colt, well that takes about 45 at least to do a good job, dunno why either.

I usually clean my pitsols every 5000 rounds or so. Depends on the powder (clean or dirty) and what I have comming up need that I need them for.

Matt: As an expert with alot more rounds over the horizon than us, can you tell us what you use to clean and lube your pistols? I've got all sorts of lubes and cleaners and have not figured out how to tell which combo is the best.

For cleaning I just wipe everything down, and make sure to get all the carbon buildup off the breachface and extractor. Once in awhile I will run a brush with hoppes down the barrel.

I have not tried it yet but I have heard good things about 7.62 solvent for removing copper from the barrel

For lube I primarily use Slide Glide, unless its really cold out (under 50) then I will mix it with some light oil.

Many years ago my dad taught me to "clean it the day you shoot it". He never had a problem with any guns he owned (pistols, shotguns, .30-06, .22). It only takes me 20-25 minutes to run a cloth w/FP-10 down the barrel followed by a few strokes with a bronze brush; wipe off the ammo crud; apply 5 drops; reassemble. I think it is time well spent on an expensive investment and on ensuring it is prepared to work if needed for defense.

When I shoot at the range no matter what type of weapons be it Glocks,Long Range Rifles or Shotguns it is not a done deal till all are broken down and cleaned. It is part of my routine to clean and lube all my weapons and put them back in the pistol or long arm safes and do a equipment check at the end of the range trip.;)

Never put away a dirty Glock. Take care of it and it will take care of you.

Yup. How can you sleep with a dirty gun in the house? *shivers*

Bore snake, powder blast spray and a couple q-tips with semi-auto cleaner from Hoppes and it's ready to go again.

The manual says to clean it every time. I detail strip and clean every time, doesn't take too long especially when it's kept clean.
