and it was actually not that difficult :).

Definitely not as easy as an AK but certainly not the horror story I thought it would be. I watched a video on youtube and, while it was not the white glove cleaning he had to do in the military, it was good enough for occasional range use.

All in all I have to say I am very impressed with this M&P 15 sport! I've installed a bump fire systems bump fire stock and a holographic sight. Ready to rock n roll on the range!

You must belong to a MUCH cooler range than I do. If I showed up at mine with a bump-fire stock, it would be my last day of membership.

LOL:)...my wife and I belong to shoot straight under the family plan and they do allow bump fire stocks. They also allow my silencer. If there is a shoot straight near you, see if they allow these totally fun stocks!

The local ranges in Houston doesn't have an issue with rapid fire as long as it's controlled.

If you are a bit OCD about the cleanliness of your weapons, then the AR cleaning horror stories ring true. Also, being what some would label as obsessive regarding care of ones weapon seems fairly commonplace among gun owners, it takes a very long time to get an AR completely clean.

Just keep it lubed. Cleaning is more for you than the rifle, but lube is important...

That's what the guy in the video said. Lack of lube is the most common reason for AR failures.

    Thanks,

True......only time you need to clean it that well, is when you want to sell it!
They do need to be cleaned well enough to run smoothly, though.....really grungy is not acceptable either.

Yep. The best AR will choke if you let it get too dry, but they chew through carbon like nobody's business.
They are pretty much "self-cleaning", with regards to keeping it running. A rifle with 1000 rounds and no cleaning will be disgusting, but all the friction points will be clean, as long as there's lube to help it work.

Still good to look the rifle over once in awhile, and doing that alone will get a lot of the gunk off the bolt and BCG just through handling.

Knowing me I'll be cleaning it after every couple range trips. I have to say again that I am LOVING this rifle!!!!!
