“They’re saying, ‘F--- the governor! F--- Cuomo! We’re not going to register our guns,’ and I think they’re serious. People are not going to do it. People are going to resist,” explained State Rifle and Pistol Association President Tom King, who also serves on the National Rifle Association board of directors. “They’re taking one of our guaranteed civil rights, and they’re taking it away.”

Good for them... maybe they can start to push back enough to regain some of their other restricted rights.

We stand with you New Yorkers! Stand strong and fight! This is the way we need to combat these kinds of unconstitutional laws.

If you get a large enough portion of the population to refuse to follow the law it will work. The problem is many won't follow through.

Very interesting predicament NYS has themselves in. Will they enforce the laws and put hundreds, if not thousands, of previously law-abiding taxpayers behind bars?

And if New Yorkers are willing to give the finger to registration, how well do the Feds think people in the Deep South are going to comply? What a joke ...

Best of luck to them, I hope they are prepared to support each other and for the consequences. If they are, it could be another Boston Tea Party.

I expect that the state government will try to isolate someone and make an example of them. If that enrages instead of terrorizing the citizens it could get interesting.

They don't have enough room in the prisons for the bad guys. I wonder how this is going to work out. In fact, not keeping the bad guys in prison is a good part of the crime problem.

This is how government terrorizes it's subjects (I would say citizens, but citizens have rights and do not live in fear of their government). They make examples out of a couple, scares the bejesus out of the rest which breaks momentum.

But the fact is united a group of people can push back and the more that work together and push back the less likely an abusive government will succeed in it's oppression.

Sure there are what if scenarios, but as was pointed out... what, are they going to arrest and incarcerate 1/2 the state? It's not feasible... UNLESS the tin-foilers were right about FEMA camps. Just sayin... even a broken clock is correct twice a day.

I was listening to one of the New York-based talk show guys this morning (pretty sure it was Wilkow), and he said he would hand over his guns if the police came to take them.

He said as long as they presented a valid search warrant that stipulated his guns were the subject of the search and seizure, he would cooperate.

He stated he had a daughter to be a father to and was not going to risk that...

So they should just submit to their masters, and accept defeat?
