    I am working on duplicating the orig. Hornady 10mm XTP vel. My results from my range trip today. Air temp. 70deg. G20 w/stock brl. 22# Wolf spring. C.O.L. 1.260 155grXTP 12.4grs B-D 1386fps, 180grXTP 10.5grs B-D 1196fps, 200grXTP 9.4grs B-D 1126fps Very happy, the 10mm is a very versatile cartridge. BTW, I am not trying to produce Nuk loads.

Nice report, G36shooter. Those are some nice respectable loads that should shoot good. Mind if I ask what type of primers you used? I get just under 1200fps with 180XTP's and 11.0gr Blue Dot, using CCI#300 primers. So I was wondering if maybe the difference might be the primers.

Of course, everyone seems to get better velocities with Blue Dot than I do. :dunno:

Good deal G36shooter. A respectable outing. The first two track pretty closely to my testing. I imagine that you are getting a pretty clean burn at those charge weights.

I have found that Blue Dot is one of the cleanest high pressure powders, but one of the dirtiest powders at lower pressures. I use a lot of it.

Yes I forgot to add I am using CCI 300 primers. Taterhead I too find B-D to be clean burning. I have also used P-P for my 10mm but get higher vel. with B-D. these #'s were from three shot groups,5 shots might change the avg. but I believe I am where I want to be. Will bump up the 180 to 10.7grs. I have an old box of Hornady 10mm and the box lists 155gr,1410fps.,180gr,1260fps.,200gr,1150fps. from a 5"brl. So from a 4.6 brl. I won't push it. Hope I have helped.

FWIW, Longshot should get you close to or even exceed those old Hornady numbers. For 155's, 11.5gr avg just over 1400 fps out of my G20sf.

Hey G36... Nothing wrong with some nice, clean respectable 10mn loads. Looks good! Blue Dot is, above all, strangely accurate in every load I use it with. I like it... And I love XTP'S.

Try some Longshot one f these days :)
